Existing Programs

Purchase from U.S. pharmaceutical companies at discounted rate and receive donations of medicines, supplies, and equipment from US NGOs to distribute them to institutions serving the poor.

Operate three clinics where indigent people receive basic healthcare and medicines for a small fee or free of charge.

Partner with local agencies in Haiti and the Dominican Republic to deliver prevention education and healthcare services to needy individuals and families.

Conduct trainings for health care staff and patients in Haiti and the Dominican Republic on good health practices and disease prevention, including lectures on dieting and benefit of exercise. High blood pressure control, treatment and monitoring.

Organize health fairs in remote villages of the island to provide free medical consultations and immediate treatment for those in need.

Provide schools supplies to rural schools in the island educating poor children.

HIV/AIDS is now a major health crisis in both countries. It is estimated that approximately 275,000 are infected with the disease. The Hispaniola Fund provides HIV education and prevention, and is mounting a new initiative to work with agencies and clinics in Haiti and the Dominican Republic to curb the spread of the disease.
